FIRST FRIDAY SENSORY AWARENESS & ACCESSIBILITY PROGRAM

We understand a visit to the Museum can present challenges for some families. The Children’s Museum of Idaho strives to be an inclusive and accessible space that celebrates neurodiversity and welcomes people of all needs and abilities. First Friday evenings are scheduled monthly for families of children on the autism spectrum, with sensory processing disorders, and/or other special needs. What to Expect: • Limited attendance (pre-registration required) • Low lighting and reduced noise in the exhibit areas • Therapy dogs • Sensory kits • Weighted vests and noise cancelling headphone if requested (limited supply) • Dedicated quiet area • Connect with other families who may share similar life experiences • Food and beverages may be consumed in the outdoor areas or Community Room during the First Friday sessions if you clean-up before you leave the room.

Upcoming First Friday Evenings from 5:00-7:00pm: 2023 Dates: October 6, November 3, and December 1.  In an effort to better serve our guests and provide a welcoming, adaptive environment that meets your needs, discounted advanced ticket purchase and member reservations are required two days prior to the session. Tickets are non-refundable.

October, November and December pre-registration and ticket-sales will be available three weeks prior to each session. For questions, please contact Tamara at tamara@cmidaho.org or 208.345.1920 to learn more about First Friday Sensory Awareness & Accessibility programs.
